A mentally unhinged factory worker Jerry Hickfang (Ryan Reynolds) must decide whether to listen to his talking cat and become a killer, or follow his dog’s advice to keep striving for normalcy.
Jerry Hickfang lives in Midwestern America. His daily activities include, working in a factory, fantasising about his colleague, Fiona (Gemma Arterton), speaking and arguing with his pets, Mister Whiskers and Bosco (voiced by Ryan Reynolds), and seeking advice from his psychiatrist, Dr Warren (Jacki Weaver). I really enjoyed this black comedy, and although it had a fair bit of gore, the farcical situations, and the comments coming from his colleagues, the cat and the dog did make me laugh. The colours in the film – pinks, oranges, purples, browns – reminded me of the Wes Anderson movie, “The Grand Budapest Hotel’ It’s a strange film, but a joy to watch… which kind of left me with mixed feelings. What are the mixed feelings about? Well, it is about a serial-killer, albeit one suffering with schizophrenia! Overall, a jolly watch – go see! 🙂 #Moose
